We had a small group consultation tonight with Charlene and her many baby carriers! We got to try lots out of different styles, with full demonstrations and tips and tricks to putting the carriers safely on and off.
Charlene was super knowledgable and friendly and made the session really interactive. I would highly recommend booking a session if you are starting out, have some experience of baby wearing or just want to have a play with different carriers.
I’m not one of those people who collect fancy shoes or handbags but I might start collecting slings after tonight’s session!

I have been along to a couple of the social meets to browse different slings, chat about the different fits and styles and I have rented a couple of different ones to try. Charlene was great in showing me how to put them on properly, talked through safety when wearing a sling or carrier and followed up with messages to see how i was getting on. The website is very easy to use and the rates are really good for 1-1 sessions and rentals. I have been able to find a carrier that works best for me, as not all fit one size I think along libraries are a great way to find what works best for you.

I hired two slings from Charlene and she was very helpful and always got back to my questions (of which I had lots) promptly. Hiring the slings for a fortnight was a great option, to be able to try and see what is suitable without commitment and I was able to make a decision on which one I wanted to purchase. I’d never used a sling library before so wasn’t sure what to expect but it was a very efficient and easy process.

Charlene at Staffordshire Sling Library and Babywearing Consultancy has been brilliant from initial enquiry to returning my hired sling. I had no idea where to start when it came to baby wearing, I was struggling to do anything around the house as my baby just wanted to be held. Charlene made it so easy by asking what I'd like to get out of a sling, for me breastfeeding and something easy to use was key. Charlene visited my home with a few slings for me to try and have a play with, I instantly fell in love with the mamaruga sling and decided to loan it for 2 weeks. Charlene met me at a location that suited me to drop off the hire and the same when it came to return the sling. Being able to test the sling has given me a whole new level of confidence when it comes to babywearing and Charlene has helped me through the trial by sending lots of information and being on hand to assist with any queries I have. Slings are a pricey investment and a bit of a minefield with so many options so having Charlene so local has been a god send for me. Luca absolutely loves it in the sling and we go on so many adventures without tears from being in the pram.

I found Charlene's page on Facebook after being interested in baby wearing but not feeling very confident at all or knowing where to start. I emailed her and she replied to me straight away with how she can help.
I have anxiety and struggle a bit to do things that are different to my normal routine but I opted in for a private consultation and I am so glad I did. She is really friendly and made me feel at ease straight away, she listened to what my needs were and answered my questions even though I thought they were silly, she convinced me that they weren't. She showed me how to safely fit the slings and told me some information on them.
I hired one of the slings from her that I tried on and went on holiday with it, even after the consultation Charlene text me a couple of times to ask me how I'm getting on with it and to send her some pictures for a fit check if I wanted to.
Me and my baby love using the baby carrier, I can get more done around the house as sometimes she is fussy, so this way I dont have to put her down or not get anything done. It helps greatly on school runs too as I have 3 children so it is good having 2 hands free. When the sling was returned I hired another and that is going so well and its comfortable too. Charlene also mentioned socials that she does weekly and I will definately be attending some of these

Only great things to say; I went to one of the library's Sling Clinic & Social events and it was such a welcoming atmosphere, I honestly felt so at ease and it was so much nicer/more personal than expected! 💖
I actually rented one of their Lenny Lamb Ring Slings, I'm still very new to baby-wearing but after having Charlene help me with how to use it, I've been taking my little boy out in it quite regularly and he's loved every minute of it. My baby won't be put down for long, so it's made life so much easier, it really helps to take a lot of babe's weight off me when carrying him around and we've been enjoying going for walks/shopping trips using the ring sling much more than we did before. It's also an absolute god-send for breastfeeding when out and about, my little guy just feeds and falls asleep in his sling whilst I get on with my day, whereas before I'd either struggle to hold & feed him whilst walking around or I'd have to rush off to find somewhere to conveniently feed him instead. He's generally just really happy in the sling and I love having him so close!
I've actually now bought my own sling through Charlene, she even helped when I was struggling to choose and has been nothing but supportive from the start 🩷 It's overall just been a really great experience, I'd absolutely recommend and I'll definitely try more baby carriers in the future 🥰
